Dealing a new hand
Quiet Hand is Spider Solitaire for long, calm sessions. Large cards, plain controls and no ads during play. Your game is saved in this browser.
Spider Solitaire is played with two full decks. Build columns down in rank from King to Ace. Complete runs in a single suit are cleared from the table and placed in the foundations.
When no more moves can be made, deal a fresh row of ten cards from the stock. Every column must have at least one card before you can deal.
Build runs from King down to Ace in one suit. You can put any face-up card on a card one rank higher, and move a run in order as a group when it is all one suit. A finished run leaves the table. Clear all eight runs to win.
Every mode uses 104 cards. With 1 Suit they are all spades, with 2 Suits spades and hearts, and with 4 Suits all four suits. More suits make it harder to build runs that can move together.
Start with 1 Suit if Spider is new to you. Move to 2 Suits when you win most of your games, and try 4 Suits when you want a long, slow puzzle.
One 2 Suits deal a day, the same for everyone and always winnable. Finish it to keep your streak going. The Daily page shows a calendar of the days you have completed.
With Winnable deals only switched on, as it is to begin with, each new deal is checked by a solver before you play it. If the check takes too long on a slow device, you get an ordinary deal instead. You can switch the setting off in Settings.
Yes. Your game, settings and statistics stay in this browser, so you can close the tab and carry on later. There is no account, so they do not move to another browser or device, and clearing this site's data removes them.
No. There are never ads during a hand. Nothing appears on the table while you play, and nothing interrupts a game in progress.
Yes. Z undoes, H shows a hint, N starts a new game, D (or Space) deals from the stock and Esc opens the menu. Tab moves to the columns, the arrow keys choose a column, and Enter or Space picks up a run and puts it down.
You start with 500 points. Every move costs one point, including deals from the stock and undos, and every completed run adds 100.
Yes. Drag a card or run with your finger, or tap a card to send it to the best column. The table fits the screen in portrait.
